Unify Currencies Across Reports in Looker Studio

Use Looker Studio as a reporting destination for unified currencies of your monetary data with OWOX Data Marts. Collect Open Exchange Rates Data into any data warehouse, then blend with SQL & enable it in Looker Studio (or Google Sheets) for reporting. Or enable AI Insights and deliver ads performance & allerts into chat tools or by email.

Step 1: Select a Data Storage

All data should have it's home. Start by connecting a data storage where your Open Exchange Rates data will be stored & processed. This is necessary so you connect trusted data to Looker Studio.

Choose a supported data warehouse such as BigQuery, Snowflake or Redshift.
Store raw Open Exchange Rates data in one central place so you can blend them later on

Step 2: Create Open Exchange Rates Data Mart

Click on + New Data Mart , choose Connector as the definition type.

Select Open Exchange Rates as the data source
Specify the Open Exchange Rates API App ID
List currency codes to fetch (e.g., USD,EUR,GBP)

This Data Mart defines the logic once and makes it reusable.

Note: Use coma to separate multiple ad accounts and collect the data together without the need to blend them afterwards.

Step 3: Select Currencies

Select Historical exchange rates data

Define the dataset and table where data will be stored
Publish Open Exchange Rates Data Mart once configuration is complete
Run manually & select Backfill to load historical currency exchange rates
Add a Connector run Trigger so rates are collected on your schedule.

Step 4: Use Exchange Rates in Your Reporting

Now it's time to enable your Open Exchange Rates data in Looker Studio

Add Looker Studio as a Destination & paste the JSON into Looker Studio
Then just tik the box in the Destinations section of a data mart
From now on, your Shopify Data Mart is available from Looker Studio as a configuration

The data is going to be refreshed automatically.

Step 5: Get more from your Open Exchange Rates Data
